Hi! I’m Dr. Kim J. Fields. Most days you can find me in my home office creating and editing new content and, of course, reading up on the latest news surrounding the social context of education. I love serving the world by ushering in the message on the value of an education and helping parents stay engaged in the educational achievement process of their kids. Providing tips and tricks on how to be the best parent advocate by providing easy-to-grasp processes to avoid overwhelm of keeping kids focused on the purpose of a good education while juggling all the other things that we have to do on a daily basis is how I serve.
I teach, train, and coach people who are looking for skills and tools to make learning exciting, fun and applicable to their kids. I work with parents who struggle with getting their kids to do homework as well as those whose kids have yet to see the real value in educational achievement. I educate people about the latest research pertaining to the social context of education for underrepresented students. I am lucky that I get to inspire them, serve them and give them ways to feel confident that the work they’re putting in pays off in the end
As a university adjunct professor for over 25 years and mom of two grown adult children and grandmother of 5 (two of whom I taught to read before going to kindergarten), I’ve seen firsthand the effects — both positive and negative — of the importance of a focus on education. I've spent plenty of time and energy navigating and learning about the system and I welcome you on this journey!
